re: 790cc. I’ve noticed that there is a BLACK Clean and Charge unit and a WHITE Clean and Charge unit. Is there any difference between the two, or is it just what color one prefers, or is one model newer. Stores in my area have both, but no one can answer this questions.

Braun have recently refreshed the designs of the shavers. Depending on whether you are in America or Europe the newer models are called 790cc-4 or 790cc-3 respectively. Yes, the clean and renew unit with the new units is black. The change in the package is cosmetic, plus a couple of extra shave settings. The former design has been discontinued.
(One more thing to check for, if the shaver unit’s body is also black, instead of silver, then that is the 760cc-4; a version of the 790cc-4 minus a few features.)
